Bernardaud "Le Gobelet Du Roy"
The Bernardaud "Le Gobelet du Roy" collection is a faithful reproduction of the original service commissioned by King Louis XVI in 1783 from the Manufacture de Sèvres for use at the Palace of Versailles. The term "Gobelet" refers to the officers in the king's household responsible for the bread, wine, and fruit served to His Majesty.
Each piece in this collection is adorned with friezes of myrtle leaves and wild cornflowers intertwined with a crimson ribbon, reflecting the era's renewed interest in nature. The center of each plate features a wreath of cornflowers encircling a naturalistically painted rose, with each rose uniquely positioned to enhance the individuality of each piece
Crafted from fine Limoges porcelain, renowned for its exceptional quality and translucency, the "Le Gobelet du Roy" collection is finished with a smooth, glossy glaze that enhances the intricate patterns. The collection offers a comprehensive array of tableware, including dinner plates, salad plates, bread and butter plates, soup bowls, teacups with saucers, and serving platters.
