Bernardaud "Versailles Enchante"
The Bernardaud "Versailles Enchanté" collection draws its name and inspiration from the opulent gardens and festivities of the Palace of Versailles, particularly the "Fêtes de l'Île Enchantée"—a six-day celebration orchestrated by King Louis XIV. This series captures the grandeur of these historic events, reflecting the lavish artistry of the era.
Each piece in the collection features detailed engravings by renowned artists such as Gabriel Pérelle, Israël Silvestre, and Jean Lepautre. These designs depict scenes from the gardens and festivities of Versailles, rendered in bistre tones on the rims, complemented by the golden sun rays emblematic of the Sun King. The centers of the plates are tinted in ochre or green, adding depth and contrast to the intricate illustrations.
The collection offers a comprehensive array of tableware, including dinner plates, dessert plates, bread and butter plates, rim soup bowls, coupe soup bowls, teacups with saucers, espresso cups with saucers, mugs, presentation plates, oval platters, open vegetable dishes, soup tureens, and sauce boats.
