Gien "Dominoté"
The Gien Dominoté collection is a sophisticated tableware line inspired by the traditional art of Dominoterie, a French craft of hand-printed wallpaper making that dates back to the 18th century. This collection is a collaboration between Gien and the artisanal wallpaper manufacturer Antoinette Poisson. The name Dominoté pays homage to this heritage, as the patterns and designs reflect the delicate, historical motifs typically found in this ancient decorative art. The plates in the Dominoté series are adorned with a mix of floral and geometric patterns. These motifs - such as Roses, Louis XIII, and Artifices - were specially created by Antoinette Poisson for Gien, while others come from 18th-century archives. The edges of the plates are delicately hand-painted in a peacock hue. Crafted from fine faience, a type of glazed earthenware, the Dominoté collection embodies the rich tradition of craftsmanship from Gien, which began in 1821.
