This is the lower part of a KPM "Urbino" cookie jar, finished in the Multicolore décor with a simple gold rim accent set against a rich purple ground. Crafted from fine porcelain by the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, a house that has produced its wares by hand in Berlin since 1763. The Urbino shape pairs a clean, classic silhouette with the manufactory's exacting standards of decoration, making this piece equally suited to everyday use or a formally set table.
