Mono "A Flatware stainless steel"
The Mono A collection, designed by Peter Raacke in 1959, is a seminal piece in modern cutlery design, marking a shift from ornate styles to a minimalist and functional approach. Developed in collaboration with Herbert Seibel, the collection's name "Mono" refers to the manufacturing technique where the knife was originally created from a single piece of stainless steel, known as a monobloc. This design approach set a new standard in the post-war era, emphasizing simplicity and utility.
Crafted from 18/10 stainless steel, Mono A flatware is known for its durability and corrosion resistance. The collection features a brushed matte finish, giving the utensils a refined yet understated appearance. The knife, available in both short and long blade options, is made with hardened blade steel to maintain sharpness and longevity. The collection's streamlined design includes softly curved handles and smooth, rounded forms, offering a comfortable grip and a balanced feel.
Mono A includes a wide range of pieces, from standard table settings like spoons, forks, and knives, to specialized items such as salad servers, cheese fondue forks and cake forks.
