Pott cutlery has been designed with such consistency from the outset that little has ever needed to change. Founded in 1904 in Solingen, the city of blades, the workshop developed under Carl Pott from 1932 into a cutlery manufactory, shaped by Bauhaus and the Deutscher Werkbund. Alongside his own designs, Pott commissioned renowned designers such as Hermann Gretsch, Wilhelm Wagenfeld and Josef Hoffmann to create pieces for the company.
